Cargo transportation by air has many advantages, and therefore, it is one of the most popular and efficient methods of transportation around the world, Ahmadshoh Rahimov, the head of the air freight transportation department of Dunyo Cargo, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
“In the modern world, freight transportation plays a decisive role in meeting the needs of each country for goods and services,” said Rahimov. “For mountainous countries such as Tajikistan, access to efficient and reliable transportation systems becomes an even more important factor.”
Logistics challenges, associated with limited means of land transport, make air freight transport extremely important for the economic development of the country. Therefore, the demand for air cargo transportation is growing with the development of Tajikistan’s trade and economic relations, Rahimov noted.
Transportation of agricultural products, textiles, electronics and other goods requires reliable and fast logistics solutions. “Therefore, the development of international air cargo transportation becomes a priority what has been especially felt in recent years in Tajikistan,” Rahimov said.
New airlines are starting to operate in the country and new regular routes are appearing that contributes to improving the accessibility of air cargo transportation for local participants in foreign economic activity.
Air freight transportation is attractive to shippers because of the lower packaging costs associated with the transport of cargo.
According to Rahimov, freight transport by air is carried out from Tajikistan and back by direct to 12 countries, including Turkiye, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Iran, China, India, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
“However, goods can be sent and received in Tajikistan from almost more than 200 countries and territories of the world,” Rahimov added.
Dunyo Cargo reportedly offers services on air shipment of all types of goods, including the general cargo, temperature controlled cargo, perishable cargo, dangerous goods, oversized and heavy cargo, live animals, personal belongings during international moves and other types of cargo.
