Tajikistan first privately owned air company, Somon Air, has resumed flights to Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad.  

The flight will be operated once a week, on Thursdays, and the first flight is being operated on June 27, 2024. 

Departure from Dushanbe is at 10:30 pm and departure from Islamabad is at 1:30 pm (local time is stated).

The company will use Being 737-800 and Boeing 737-900 to operate flights on this air route.

Somon Air notes says planes from Dushanbe will land at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport, which is the third-largest airport in Pakistan.

Somon Air is the first private airline in Tajikistan with an office headquartered in Dushanbe.  The airline operations are based at Dushanbe International Airport.  The airline started operating on February 5, 2008 with regular flights to Moscow and Dubai. 

Somon Air also serves as the official carrier of the President of Tajikistan and other Tajikistan high-ranking officials

Somon Air is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).  Somon Air's fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 and 737-900 family aircraft.

The company is focused on expanding the route network of air transportation and the fleet, and currently operates regular flights from Tajikistan to Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, Bahrain, Bangkok, Barcelona, Beijing, Birmingham, Copenhagen, Doha, Dubai, Istanbul, Jeddah, Kabul, Kuwait, London, Manchester, Muscat, Milan, Oslo, Paris, Riyadh, Rome, Sharjah, Tokyo, Toronto, Trabzon, Urumqi, and some other cities.
