In the framework of the Integrated Rural Development Project/ TRIGGER, the European Union supported the Integrated Farm Assurance Training for Global GAP (Good Agricultural Practices).  This is a significant step towards enhancing agricultural practices in Tajikistan initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture.

This training is essential for empowering local farmers and agricultural businesses to adhere to international agricultural standards, which are crucial for gaining access to global markets.

Global GAP (Version 6) represents the latest standards designed to promote sustainable farming practices, improve food safety, and enhance product quality.  Having facilitators trained in this version is imperative for Tajikistan, as it enables local agricultural products to meet international criteria, thus expanding export opportunities for the nation.

The Ministry of Agriculture has taken a proactive role in supporting the Integrated Farm Assurance Training, reflecting a commitment to improving production methods, increasing competitiveness, and benefiting farmers while promoting economic growth in the country.

Key stakeholders from various sectors, including the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Agency for Export Promotion, the Agency for Standardization, and agricultural specialists from Khujand, Lakhsh, Rasht, and Kushoniyon, have come together to participate in this training program.

With the support of the IRDP/TRIGGER project, this training will facilitate knowledge transfer and create a network of well-trained professionals capable of leading the implementation of Global GAP standards in their respective regions.

As Tajikistan aims to position itself as a competitive player in the global agricultural market, the Ministry of Agriculture remains dedicated to initiatives that support quality, compliance, and sustainable development.

The Integrated Rural Development Project (IRDP)/ Towards Rural Inclusive Growth and Economic Resilience (TRIGGER) is a joint project of the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to boost the added value of agricultural production in Tajikistan by improving water security and sustainability, enhancing the productivity of selected value chains, supporting market development, export readiness, enterprise promotion and economic policy advice.
