The National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) has granted a license for banking operations in national and foreign currencies to Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) Investment and Credit Bank, Tajikistan (ICB).
The press center of Tajikistan’s financial regulator notes that the license has been granted in connection with the rebranding of CJSC The First Microfinance Bank.
The official renaming of the Bank took place on October 21, 2024. The brand name of the Bank is ICB. Having changed its name to CJSC Investment and Credit Bank, Tajikistan, the Bank “is ready to confidently and decisively pursue its goals.”
Over the past twenty years of its activity, CJSC The First Microfinance Bank has earned respect and a solid reputation among its customers and international organizations operating in Tajikistan through comprehensive development. In light of this, the Bank has decided to focus its activities on achieving a more active role in the banking sector of Tajikistan and aspiring to become a solid and stable financial institution to realize its comprehensive and ambitious plans.
Established in 2003, The First Microfinance Bank was the first commercial bank in Tajikistan focusing mainly on microcredit lending. Building upon its strong foundation in the microfinance sector, the bank has expanded its services to better address the diverse financial needs of individuals and legal entities. It has a network of more than 40 branches.
