According to the country's Customs Service, around 47,000 passenger cars were imported into Tajikistan last year, totaling US$521.2 million.
An official source within the Customs Service says this represents a 39.8% decrease compared to 2023.
The source told Asia-Plus that last year, Asian car brands were the most popular among Tajik buyers. South Korean Hyundai took the top spot, followed by Japanese Toyota and Chinese BYD in third place.

- KIA – 3,504

Interestingly, Tajikistan's car preferences have shifted over the past two years. From 2013 to 2022, the top 10 most popular brands in the country were: Opel, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Lexus, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Daewoo, and KIA.
