International experts arrive in Tajikistan to familiarize themselves with zones of possible disasters here

, March 13, Asia-Plus - A group of the UN experts arrived in
Tajikistan
on March 13 for the purpose of familiarizing themselves with zones of possible natural disasters in the republic and determining the country’s needs and requirements in case of emergencies.
According to information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), during two weeks 15 international experts intend to visit the regional and district emergency management agencies.
On results of the visit the experts will prepare a report that will be submitted for consideration to the government, according to the MES source.
In the meantime, a seminar formally titled “Humanitarian Charter and Minimal Standards Used on Providing Aid in Case of Emergencies” will be held in
Dushanbe
under the “Sphere” project of OXFAM on March 29. The seminar is aiming to consider the mentioned issues.
