The drowned person was proved to be 20-25-year-old resident of the Tajik eastern district of Fayzobod Habibullo (his last name has not yet been identified).
According to Karomat Sharipov, Habibullo worked with the municipal economy department of the Saltykovsky district. “When his friends heard about the tragedy they applied to the local emergency management agency for assistance in extracting the body from the marsh,” said Mr. Sharipov, “However, local rescuers refused, demanding money for their work.”
Sharipov says he intends to go the Saltykovsky district to find out the cause of Habibullo death and meet with top managers of the local municipal economy department. “I also will try to find out on what grounds the emergencies employees have demanded money for doing their job,” he said.
