DUSHANBE, September 18, Asia-Plus - A Friday fire has not caused damage to the Turkish restaurant “Merve”, located on the first floor of the building in the area near the Dushanbe brewery; however, the fire has partially damaged the building that belongs to this restaurant, according to information from Tajikistan’s firefighting service.
As it had been reported earlier, the fire broke out on the roof of the three-storey building, the first floor of which houses the Turkish restaurant “Merve”, located in the area near the Dushanbe brewery Friday morning, at about 11:00 a.m. A source in the Tajik firefighting service said the fire had damaged more than 600 square meters on the second and the third floors of the building. The results of the preliminary investigation show that a short circuit could be the cause of the fire
Police cordoned off the territory around the restaurant and evacuated its employees. The fire was localized and extinguished in an hour. No injured was reported.
According to the preliminary data, the damage caused by the fire to the building amounts to 2,000 Somonis.
