DUSHANBE, January 7, Asia-Plus -- Four persons were killed Sunday as two cars collided in the Vahdat district, some 27 kilometers southeast of Dushanbe, according to the Tajik traffic police directorate.
Habibullo Munavvarov, a spokesman for the traffic police, said that the accident took place yesterday evening on the highway from Vahdat to Fayzobod.
Driver of Opel-Vectra Mirzohakim Sharipov could control his car and collided with Opel-Astra driven by Sharifbek Odinayev, the spokesman said. As a result of collision the Opel-Astra driver and his three passengers died at the scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
In the meantime, 28 traffic accidents have been registered in the country this month. Nine persons have been killed and 39 other have been injured in those 28 accidents.
