DUSHANBE, July 14, 2008, Asia-Plus - The 18-year-old resident of the Sughd province, Inomjon Sobirov, was drowned in the Varzob lake, some 12 kilometers north of Dushanbe, on July 12, bringing a total number of those drowned in the country during the swimming season to 35, Asia-Plus has learned at the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES).
Muzaffar Usmonov, and official with a CES, said that his body had been found by the CES rescuers the same day.
The second tragedy took place on July 13 in the Romit Gorge, Vahdat district. The 70-year-old resident of the village of Yavroz, Davlatmurod Gulov, could not control his car and the car, VAz-2106, fell into the river, Usmonov said. An operation for search of his body is going on.
