KHUAJND, February 23, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Three suicide cases and a suicide attempt were reported in the northern Sughd province last Thursday (February 19) alone.
According to the Sughd police directorate, two suicide cases were reported in `the Istaravshan district. The 47-year-old woman from the Boghi Kalon jamoat committed suicide by self-hanging following quarrel with her husband. The second suicide case was reported in the Guli Surkh jamoat, where the 20-year man killed himself by self-hanging. The cause of suicide in this case is still unknown.
The third suicide case was reported in the Jabborrasoulov district, where the 24-year-old woman committed suicide by self-hanging.
The 18-year-old man from the jamoat of Yori in the Panjakent decided to kill himself by self-hanging following quarrel with his father. Fortunately, relatives managed to save him and he was taken to the central district hospital in Panjakent.
