KHUJAND, November21, 2009, Asia-Plus  -- Seven fires were reported in the Sughd province last Thursday night alone, according to the Sughd firefighting service.

The fires took place in the city of Khujand as well as in Bobojonghafurov, Mastchoh, Shahriston and Isfara districts.

In the majority of cases, the cause of fire was children’s play with fire, the source said.  “Fortunately, no casualties were reported; however, damage caused by these fires amounted to 40,610 somoni,” he added.
