KULOB, April 5, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Heavy rainfalls that hit the Kulob zone in Khatlon province at the end of last week have affected part of the river bank protection works in the Tabollyay River on the outskirts of the city Kulob.
The Kulob emergencies official Orzou Hasanov says torrential rain has affected some 70 square meters of the river bank protection works and part of the effluent disposal line on the outskirts of Kulob. “We are taking measures to remove effects of the disaster,” Hasanov said.
In the meantime, reliable source says mudslides caused by heavy rainfalls have killed several cows in the Balkhobi jamoat, Muminobod district.
