An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0-4.0 reportedly struck Afghanistan not far from its northeastern border with Tajikistan at 11:46 am of December 1.
According to Tajikistan’s Geophysical Service, the quake’s epicenter was located 295 kilometers southeast of Dushanbe and some 17 kilometers of the administrative center of the Ishkahsim district in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
No damage or injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reports the quake with a magnitude of 4.6 occurred at the depth of 229.28 kilometers on December 1 some 31 kilometers east-southeast (ESE) of Jurm, Afghanistan.
