Four persons were killed and two others injured on January 6 as Mercedes-Benz Atego collided with Opel Zefira in Devashtich (formerly Ghonchi) district, Sughd province.
According to the Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan, the accident took place on the 254th kilometer of the Dushanbe-Chanak highway.
Mercedes-Benz Atego truck, driven by the 26-year-old resident of Roudaki district, collided with Opel-Zefira, driven by the 46-year-old resident of Devashtich district.
As a result of the collision, Opel-Zefira driver and his three passengers died on the spot, while Mercedes-Benz Atego driver and his passenger sustained various injuries and were taken to the central hospital in Spitamen district.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, the Interior Ministry Traffic Police Directorate says.
