KULOB/QURGHON TEPPA, March 31, Asia-Plus  - On Friday March 28, members of the Muminobod district legislature (Majlis) rejected again solicitation of the Khatlon regional prosecutor’s office for repealing inviolability of their colleague Sadullo Rahimov, who is charged with killing and polygamy.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Alfattoh Roziqov, the deputy Khatlon prosecutor in charge of the Kulob region, said that it is already the fifth rejection since 1996.

Roziqov added that the Khatlon prosecutor’s office now intends to appeal to the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) via the Prosecutor-General’s Office for dissolution of the Muminobod legislature.

As it had been earlier, Sadullo Rahimov, who is also head of the Navbahor Farm in the Muminobod district, is charged with having killed tractor driver Emom Karimov in the village of Kulchashma.  Rahimov shot Karimov to death from sub-machine-gun Kalashnikov on December 15, 1996, according to the deputy prosecutor.  Besides, he also charged with polygamy.  Rahimov has three wives simultaneously.
