KULOB, April 3, Asia-Plus -- Resident of Khatlon’s Khovaling district, Mahmadali Hakimov, hunted by police for double killing, has shot himself, Asia-plus has learned from Alfattoh Roziqov, the deputy Khatlon prosecutor in charge of the Kulob region.
According to him, a specially set up operational group detected Hakimov in the remote village of Buidoqobod in the Muminobod district Wednesday evening. “When police officers rounded up him and proposed to surrender, Hakimov shot himself from sub-machine-gun Kalashnikov,” the prosecutor said.
E will recall that the 38-year-old resident of the village of Shugnou in Khatlon’s Khovaling district Mahmadali Hakimov on April 1 shot at his wife, brother-in-law and mother-in-law from sub-machine-gun. As a result his wife and brother-in-law were killed and his mother-in-law got serious wounds and was taken to the central district hospital in Khovaling.
According to the Kulob prosecutor Nasrullo Mahmoudov, Hakimov who was recently released from prison wanted to return his wife, who was living with her parents after he was jailed. “However, she refused to return and demanded divorce,” said the prosecutor. “Following quarrel, Hakimov fired at his wife, brother-in-law and mother-in-law and escaped.”
