QURGHON TEPPA, April 30, Asia-Plus -- The Khatlon anticorruption agency have instituted criminal proceedings against tow farming unit heads.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Sabzali Odinayev, the chief of staff of the Khatlon anticorruption directorate, said that former head of the Ghoib Safarzoda Farm in the Vose district, Azamjon Mirzoyev, faces charges of arbitrariness, fraud and abuse of office.
“Mirzoyev illegally allotted lands of the farming unit to local residents for housing,” said Odinayev. “Damage caused to the country’s economy by illegal actions of Mirzoyev has amounted to 135,555 somonis.”
Criminal proceedings have also been instituted against Gapar Bekmuhammadov, the head of the dehqon (peasant) farm “Ulughbek” in the Jilikul district.
“In 2006, Bekmuhammadov received 10,000 liters of diesel fuel for 26,246 somonis and further 50,000 liters for 131,231 somonis form the Qurghon Teppa-based company TAMER INN for needs of the farming unit,” said the Khatlon anticorruption directorate official, “However, Bekmuhammadov misappropriated the received fuel.”
Bekmuhammadov faces embezzlement charge, and an investigation is under way.
