QURGHON TEPPA, May 3, Asia-Plus -- Prosecutor’s office in Khatlon’s Vakhsh district has instituted criminal proceedings against Beg Norbadalov, the head of local deqhgon (peasant) farm Bahor, who faces charges of fraud and illegal currency transaction, Asia-plus has learned from Varqa Zayniddinov, a chief aide to the Khatlon prosecutor.
According to him, Norbadalaov in 2007 illegally sold a plot of land, which had been transferred to the district housing stock for being allotted for housing.
Norbadalov have fraudulently received $2,000 from one local resident for 440 sq m of land, $3,000 from another one for 1,000 sq m and arranged with the third one for $5,000 for 1,300 sq m, the chief aid said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Norbadalov under provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code -- Article 247 (fraud) and Article 286 (illegal currency transaction), Zayniddinov said.
