DUSHANBE, May 19, Asia-Plus -- On Saturday May 17, police officers warded off an attempt of selling newly born baby in the Tursunzoda district, some 70 kilometers west of Dushanbe, according to the Ministry of Interior.
“A young local woman S.Z. acting in collusion with employee of the Tursunzoda maternity house sold her newly born son to local resident H.B. for $200,” the source at a MoI said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against all the three women under the provision of Article 167 (buying and selling of minors) and an investigation is under way.
We will recall that 13 cases of buying and selling of minors were registered in the country last year.
