KULOB, July 21, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Haidr Rahimov, the deputy head of the Dehbaland jamoat (village council) in Khatlon’s Muminobod district has been detained on suspicion of having been involved in fraud and bribery.
Alfatoh Roziqov, the deputy Khatlon prosecutor in charge of the Kulob region, said that Rahimov had promised to allot a plot of land to a local resident for housing for $1,200.
Rahimov was caught red-handed when he was taking bribe, the deputy prosecutor said. Investigation is carried out by the Kulob anticorruption directorate.
