KHUJAND, September 30, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Resident of the northern city of Panjakent has got a long jail term for killing his sister.
The Khujand city sentenced a 24-year-old resident of Panjakent Sanjar Orifov to 25 years in prison on September 29. The sentence followed his conviction on the charge of killing. The court ruled that Orifov will serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony.
Justice Hotam Nazarov, who took in the trial, said that Orifov had stabbed his sister, an 18-year-old Nasiba Sadullo, to death and beheaded her. After that, Orifov reported the crime to police.
The crime was committed on June 15, 2008. According to the judge, Orifov who had previous conviction of hooliganism killed his sister on 11th day after release from penal colony.
