KHUJAND, March 26, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The Sughd law enforcement authorities have instituted criminal proceedings against Kazakh national, Ms. Dildar Sobitova, for illegal recruitment of local residents and organization of illegal migration, according to the Interior Ministry Migration Service’s branch for Sughd.
The source at the migration service’s branch said that Ms Sobitova was detained at the bus terminal, Rohi Safed, in Khujand yesterday, when she was sending 12 local residents for seasonal work to Kazakhstan.
It is already the second case of the illegal recruitment reported in the province this week. As it had been reported earlier, a bus belonging to Kyrgyz national Mamadjon Mahmoudov with more than 60 illegal Tajik migrants on board was detained at the checkpoint Dehmoy in Sughd’s Jabborrsulov district on March 24. Persons in the bus were mainly residents of the village of Dalyoni Poyon in Sughd’s Ghonchi district and the driver and his assistant were going to carry them for seasonal work to Russia’s Krasnoyarsk region. Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the driver under the provisions of Article 335 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code and an investigation is under way.
