Former rector of the Institute of Economics Nozimjon Nidoev faces charges of misspending 1 million Somoni, Tajik State Finance Control and Counter-Corruption Agency told the AP.
According to the source, pro-rector and an accountant of the same institution face similar charges under article 245 (appropriation or misspending) of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan.
“They were not officially accused yet,” the agency has said.
The details of the case remain unclear as the investigation is still under way.
Since November last year Nozimjon Nidoev is holding the post of deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission of the country.
