DUSHANBE, July 2, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Head of the Control and Analytical Department at the Investigation Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant-Colonel Begmurod Ziyoyev, faces charge of a large-scale corruption.
He was reportedly caught red-handed by officers from the anticorruption agency while taking 2,000 U.S. dollars from H. Pallayev for not instituting criminal proceedings against him. Pallayev was suspected of illegal distribution of pyrotechnics.
According to the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, criminal proceedings have been instituted against Ziyoyev under the provisions of Article 319 (2) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – taking bribe; an investigation is under way.
