DUSHANBE, July 9, 2014, Asia-Plus – Shirinbek Mahmoudov, the head of the department on investment and state-owned property management at the administration of the Farkhor district, Khatlon province has been detained by officer from the anticorruption agency for taking bribe.
An official source at the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption says Mahmoudov was caught red-handed while taking 5,000 somoni and 100 USD from local resident Sunatullo Mutavaliyev for privatization of one of facilities of Communism Collective Farm.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Mahmoudov under the provisions of Article 247 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – fraud; investigation has already been completed and the case has moved to a court.
