KHUJAND, June 10, 2016, Asia-Plus -- A resident of the northern city of Konibodom has got a long jail term for raping and killing local woman.
The Sughd regional court sentenced Abdushukur Abdulloyev, 46, to 24 years in prison on June 9.
The sentence followed his conviction on charges of rape (Article 138 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code), murder committed with special cruelty (Article 104 (2) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code), and deliberately destructing or causing damage to the property of others (Article 255 (1) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code). Abdulloyev will serve his term in a high-security penal colony.
Judge Anvar Vositzoda, who presided over the trial, says the tragedy took place in the Pouloton jamaot on February 17, 2016. “Being in a state of drunkenness, Abdulloyev raped the 54-year-old A.S. and then killed her, hitting her over the head with a wooden slab several times,” the judge said.
