DUSHANBE, June 23, 2016, Asia-Plus – Chief of the central military medical commission at the Ministry of Defense has been arrested on suspicion of bribery.
According to the anticorruption agency, Colonel Sherali Saydaliyev demanded 2,000 U.S. dollars from a resident of Dushanbe for exempting him from military service.
Saydaliyev was reportedly caught red-handed while taking 3,300 somoni from the applicant in his office.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Colonel Saydaliyev and an investigation is under way.
