Four brothers from Roudaki district had been actively propagating ideas of the banned Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group in Tajikistan; two of them have been jailed.

The Halimov brothers are residents of the village of Shainaki Chanor in Roudaki district.

A court in Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni district sentenced Khoushvakht Halimov, 26, and Saydullo Halimov, 42, to 17 and 15 years in prison respectively on November 15.

According to the press center of the Tajik Prosecutor-General’s Office, they will serve their terms in a high-security penal colony.

They are reportedly also charged with financing travels of some Tajik nationals to Syria, the source said.

Their brothers – 41-year-old Nourullo Halimov and 35-year-old Murodali Halimov – are also charged with the same crimes and put on the list of internationally wanted persons.
