Resident of Khorog Alisher Khoushdilov has got a lengthy jail term for drug trafficking.
A court in Rushan district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) has sentenced Khoushdilov to 13 years in prison. He will serve his term in a high-security penal colony.
According to the press center of the Prosecutor-General’s Office, 13.2 kilograms of hashish were found in Khoushdilov’s car.
He said he had bought the hashish from an Afghan national at the cross-border market “Tem”.
According to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, 61 drug-related crimes have been reported in the country over the first quarter (January-March) of this year.
