Preventive work and public outreach remain key priorities for Tajikistan’s law enforcement agencies — and this week, that focus helped avert a potentially dangerous incident.

Citing the Juvenile Affairs Unit at Police Station No. 1 in Dushanbe’s Sino district, the Dushanbe Police Department reports that officers successfully prevented a group brawl involving minors on December 26.

A group of teenagers had armed themselves with a knife and were reportedly planning to initiate a confrontation near a local educational institution.

Thanks to timely intervention and preventive monitoring, the police stopped the altercation before it occurred and confiscated one knife from the group.

In response to the incident, administrative protocols were drawn up against the minors’ parents under Article 90 of Tajikistan’s Administrative Code, and the cases were submitted to court for further action.

Authorities are once again urging all citizens — especially parents — to take greater responsibility for the supervision and upbringing of their children, emphasizing that proper guidance is essential to prevent youth from engaging in unlawful activities.
