DUSHANBE, April 20, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Addressing a joint meeting of both chambers of the parliament, President Emomali Rahmon noted on April 20 that he does not agree with speculations of “so-called experts on Tajikistan that the events that have taken place in some countries of the Arab world, including Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Yemen, may allegedly occur in Tajikistan as well.
He stressed that Tajik people that had experienced the horror of the civil war would never allow recurrence of those events.
In his address, President Rahmon also called on state officials to be nearer the people, justify people’s hopes.
“The president, all members of the government, all-level officials must keep doors of their offices open for people who have question or proposal for them,” Rahmon stressed.
