DUSHANBE, April 22, 2011, Asia-Plus -- On Thursday April 21, Ambassador Sirojiddin Aslov, Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations, spoke at an open debate of the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East.
According to the Tajik MFA department of information, press, analysis and planning of foreign policy, in a statement delivered on behalf of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Group, Ambassador Aslov, in particular, noted that the Palestinian problem remains a priority for international community, waiting more than a half century for implementation and fulfillment of collective political obligations, resolutions and promises.
The OIC Group at the Ambassadorial Level at UN in New York called on the Security Council to fulfill its role on ensuring execution by the Palestinian people of the right to self-determination, sovereignty and independence as well as to resolve the issue of the Palestinian refugees on the basis of appropriate UN resolutions and international law, the source said.
