DUSHANBE, April 29, 2011, Asia-Plus  -- Activity of the United Nations and its Security Council requires urgent reforms in connection with a single-polar order that emerged after the collapse of the Soviet Union, President Emomali Rahmon stated at a meeting of the Public Council in Dushanbe on April 29.

According to him, “after disappearance of threat of Communism and Cold War, some world powers have thought up the so-called ‘international terrorism’ and by their classification terrorists are divided into “criminals” and “patriots.”

At the present stage of world history, some world powers, under the pretext of struggle for democracy, may reproduce Arab-style unrest in any country of the world, Rahmon stressed.

Speaking at the meeting, the president also expressed regret over some political parties’ decision not to participate in the work of the Pubic Council.
