DUSHANBE, June 13, 2011, Asia-Plus -- German parliamentary delegation, led by Dr. Dagmar Enkelmann, chairperson of the Bundestag Group for German-Central Asia Affairs, is arriving in Dushanbe today for a five-day visit, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
A briefing dedicated to this visit took place in Bundestag on June 10. Tajik Ambassador to Germany Imomuddin Sattorov and German MPs representing leading political parties of Germany in Bundestag attended the briefing.
The briefing participants discussed main directions of political and socioeconomic development of Tajikistan, state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Germany and Tajikistan, regional problems, the possibility of participation of the sides in implementation of projects aimed at ensuring sustainable socioeconomic development of Tajikistan and strengthening of integration processes in the Central Asian region, the source said.
According to him, Ambassador Sattorov pointed out an importance of cooperation between the sides in the field of economic development and carrying out legal reforms in Tajikistan. He called on German MPs to promote further expansion of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany and intensification of investment activity of German business circles in Tajikistan.
The briefing participants expressed confidence that the visit ill give a new impulse to further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany, the source added.
The German parliamentary delegation’s visit to Tajikistan is expected to last till June 17.
