DUSHANBE, September 22, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi, who is currently in New York to attend the 66th session of the UN General Assembly, yesterday met there with Ms. Rebeca Grynspan, UN Under-Secretary-General and UNDP Associate Administrator, the Tajik MFA information department reports.
The sides discussed issues related to implementation of the UNDP projects in Tajikistan, prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and this agency of the United Nations, as well as cross-border projects between Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
Mr. Zarifi invited Ms. Grynspan to visit Tajikistan to get acquainted with activities of the UNDP Country Office in Tajikistan and discuss further cooperation with relevant bodies of Tajikistan.
On the same day, Zarifi met with his Slovenian counterpart Samuel Zbogar. They reportedly discussed cooperation between their countries within international organizations and exchanged views on the current situation in the Central Asian region and Afghanistan, the source said.
