DUSHANBE, November 10, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament), Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, heading a Tajik parliamentary delegation is currently in St. Petersburg, Russia to attend the CIS Parliamentary Assembly Council meeting.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), says the delegation members include the Majlisi Namoyandagon deputies Mahmadali Vatanov and Abdujalol Sultonov.
The meeting is reportedly considering standard draft laws related to the spheres of human rights, economics, budget and finance.
During their stay in St. Petersburg, Tajik MPs will also participate in a seminar on training of international observers for monitoring voting process within the post-Soviet area, Sultonov said.
Vatanov and Salimov are also scheduled to meet with Tajik labor migrants working in the Leningrad oblast.
