DUSHANBE, November 25, 2011, Asia-Plus – On Thursday November 24, Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi received Israel’s non-resident Ambassador to Tajikistan Hilel Newman.
According to the Tajik MFA information department, Israeli ambassador presented the copies of his credentials to Tajik minister.
In the course of the talks, the two reportedly discussed state of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Israel and noted interest of their countries in expansion of economic and trade ties.
Zarifi outlined sectors like agriculture, health, renewable energy and new technologies as areas of which could drive the bilateral trade between the two countries.
Israeli diplomat, for his part, noted that the Jewish Diaspora that had immigrated from Tajikistan to Israel could serve as “alive bridge” between the two countries. He stressed that he would take efforts to promote expansion of bilateral relations between Israel and Tajikistan.
