DUSHANBE, March 14, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Asomuddin Saidov recently paid a working visit to Kyrgyzstan’s regions of Osh and Batken.
During the visit, Ambassador Saidov held meetings with ethnic Tajiks living in those regions.
According to the Tajik Embassy in Bishkek, the meetings focused mainly on problems facing Tajik-language schools functioning in Kyrgyzstan.
During the meetings, Saidov has repeatedly noted that ethnic Tajiks being nationals of Kyrgyzstan must know the Kyrgyz language and history and literature of the Kyrgyz people, respect traditions and comply with laws of Kyrgyzstan, the source said.
Tajik ambassador also stressed that Kyrgyzstan’s Constitution and bilateral documents provide for guaranteeing ethnic Tajiks the right of preserving and developing their native language and culture, studying their history and literature and observing their traditions and rituals.
