The “Process of Implementation of the State Governance Reform and State Asset Management Strategy” workshop was held today in the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli (Lower Chamber of the Parliament) of Tajikistan in line with the project on strengthening of the Tajik Parliament’s capacities in the field of state assets.
The goal of the workshop was to strengthen Parliament’s decision making capacities and raise awareness on state reforms, press service of the Lower Chamber reported.
Law makers noted that the Government of Tajikistan implements a complex reform program aimed at sustainable economic development and improvement of living standards.
Deputies believe that establishment of effective state governance structure, as a basis for sustainable economic development and poverty reduction, is one of the key priorities of Tajikistan’s national development.
It has been noted that State Asset Management System, which requires improved effectiveness and transparency, plays an important role in the program. Parliamentarians stressed that successful reforms depend on improvement of legislation.
Deputies also outlined main goals and objectives of current reforms and pointed at key aspects achieved as a result of their implementation.
Special importance was given to the Parliament’s role in reform process and budget management. The workshop also raised issues of effectiveness of current reforms and further steps on attraction of deputies of the Lower Chamber to budget management process in line with current reforms.
The Lower Chamber’s press service added that the workshop allowed its participants to understand the details of implementation of state reforms in the field of state governance and state asset management and identify more urgent problems regarding participation of deputies and legislative basis, which regulates the state budget, and discuss potential solutions.
