In the course of his official visit to China Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon met today with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao.
As reported by Tajikistan President’s press service, the sides discussed further development of Tajik-Chinese cooperation.
Tajik leader said that Tajikistan prioritizes cooperation with China. Hu Jintao highly evaluated Tajikistan’s efforts to combat global threats and challenges.
According to the source, the talks focused on cooperation in such spheres as economy, energy, trade, security, construction and reconstruction of roads, oil and gas exploration and investments.
The talks resulted in signing of Tajik-Chinese joint statement, intergovernmental agreement on technical and economic cooperation under which China will allocate a 150mln Yuan grant to Tajikistan for economic development.
