DUSHANBE, April 10, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Tajik President Emomali Rahmon today met in Brussels with European Parliament President Martin Schulz.
According to Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service, Rahmon spoke with him about tensions between Dushanbe and Tashkent over the construction of the Rogun Dam in southern Tajikistan, which Uzbekistan says will reduce water flow to its cotton fields.
During a joint press conference, Rahmon told journalists he has not yet decided whether he will run in his country''s presidential election in November.
He also noted that as guarantor of the Constitution, he would ensure holding of transparent, free and democratic election.
