DUSHANBE, April 16, 2013, Asia-Plus – On Tuesday April 16, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received Sergey Stepashin, Chairman of Russia’s Accounts Chamber, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
Fattoh Saidov, Director of Tajikistan’s Agency for State financial Control and Combating Corruption, also attended the meeting.
Stepashin and Saidov reportedly acquainted President Rahmon with the results of audit conducted at the Russian military base deployed in Tajikistan.
A special attention was paid to cooperation between the anticorruption agencies of the two countries in combating transnational economic crimes and corruption.
The sides also discussed the current situation in Afghanistan and issues related to preventing the financing of terrorism and extremism.
