Tajik President met with the permanent UN Coordinator and the permanent representative of the UNDP in Tajikistan, Alexander Zuyev on Friday.
According to the Tajik President’s Press Service, the issues about multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and the UN were discussed during the meeting, including support of socio-economic development of Tajikistan.
Mr. Zuev reported on the results of cooperation in 2013 and plans for this year, including about the construction of medical institutions in the territory of a number of cities and districts of the country, implementation of important projects in the sphere of education, continuation of mine clearance and UXOs remaining from the civil war in various parts of the country.
It was mentioned that using new methods in 2013, 40 percent more UXOs were destroyed than in the previous eight years.
The sides agreed on further effective cooperation.
