The European Union has congratulated Tajikistan on the 25th anniversary of its declaration of national independence.
A statement released by the Spokesperson on this occasion, in particular, says that the European Union has strongly supported the transformation processes in Tajikistan and they are committed to a long-term relationship for the development, stability and security of the country on the basis of our Partnership and Cooperation Agreement and the EU's Central Asia Strategy.
“Further strengthening the European Union's political and economic commitment to the countries of Central Asia will be a key focus of the upcoming EU-Central Asia Foreign Ministers' Meeting, which will be chaired by the High Representative/Vice-President, Federica Mogherini. To be held in Brussels on October 4, ahead of the Brussels Conference on Afghanistan, the meeting will be a further illustration of our strong ties with our Central Asian partners.”
