Tajikistan and Russia have signed seventeen cooperation documents, including a joint statement and an agreement on an organized recruitment of migrant workers from Tajikistan. The leaders of the two countries have expressed satisfaction with the results of the negotiations.
Following the talks between the leaders of Tajikistan and Russia, seventeen cooperation documents were signed in Moscow yesterday. The presidents signed a joint statement. One of the most important of them is an agreement on the organized recruitment of migrant workers from Tajikistan for working in the Russian Federation, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
Dushanbe and Moscow also signed the following cooperation documents:
- An agreement on cooperation in the field of aluminum industry between the Tajik Aluminum Company (TALCO) and Russia’s VTB Bank;
- A government-to-government agreement on building and equipping five Russian-language schools in the Tajik cities of Dushanbe, Bokhtar, Khujand, Kulob and Tursunzoda;
- A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan and the National Olympic Committee of Russia;
- An agreement on cooperation between the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and the Academy of Sciences of Russia;
- An agreement on economic, scientific and humanitarian cooperation between Tajikistan’s Sughd Province and Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod Oblast;
- A MoU on cooperation between Tajikistan’s Antimonopoly Agency and Russia’s Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being (Rospotrebnadzor);
- A plan of joint actions between the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Culture of Russia for 2019;
- An agreement between Tajikistan’s Customs Service and Russia’s Federal Customs Service on simplifying customs procedures for movement of goods and vehicles between Tajikistan and Russia (Simplified Customs Corridor);
- An inter-agency protocol on compliance with phytosanitary requirements on importation of fruit-and-vegetable products of high phytosanitary risk from Tajikistan into Russia;
- A government-to-government agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism;
- A protocol on making changes to the government-to-government agreement on petroleum product deliveries to Tajikistan of February 6, 2013;
- An agreement between Tajikistan’s Drug Control Agency (DCA) and Russia’s Interior Ministry on providing assistance to DCA in countering trafficking;
- A MoU on cooperation between Tajikistan’s Ministry of Finance and Russia’s Ministry of Finance;
- A MoU on cooperation in providing biological security;
- An agreement between Tajikistan’s Ministry of Defense and Russia’s Ministry of Defense on cooperation in revealing and assessing radiation, chemical and biological situation in interest of military units of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan and Russia during joint military exercises.
