Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and his Kyrgyz counterpart Sooronbai Jeenbekov today morning met at a conflict-prone border crossing.

They are currently holding a meeting with representative of communities and elders of village councils of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.  

The presidents then will negotiate one-on-one in the Tajik northern ty of Isfara, and the delegations of the countries then will join them. 

Defense Minister Sherali Mirzo, Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda, State Committee for National Security (SCNS) Head Saymumin Yatimov, Border Troops Commander Rajabali Rahmonali are accompanying President Emomali Rahmon on his trip.   

The next round of border talks will take place in the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata, where the outcomes of the Isfara talks will be summarized and negotiations on topical issues of bilateral cooperation beteen Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will continue.
