Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov heading an Uzbek governmental delegation will arrive in Dushanbe on March 30 to attend the 9th Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process (HoA-IP) that will take place in the Tajik capital on the same day.
The Uzbek MFA’s official website says the forum is planned to discuss issues related to providing regional security, further expansion of regional economic collaboration as well as strengthening confidence building measures between member nations for the purpose of helping stabilize the situation in Afghanistan and supporting its economic reconstruction.
The theme of the 9th Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process is “Strengthening Consensus for Peace and Development.”
Foreign ministers of 15 member nations will participate in the HoA-IP meeting in Dushanbe. Besides, representatives of 16 donor countries and heads of 16 regional and international organizations will participate in the meeting through video conferencing.
Meanwhile, a senior officials meeting is being held in Dushanbe today. The meeting began with welcoming speeches by Tajik First Deputy Foreign Minister Khusrav Noziri and Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Meerwas Nab, who are co-chairing the meeting, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
The meeting participants reportedly discussed the draft Dushanbe declaration, which is an outcome document of the 9th Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process.
