Russian President Emomali Rahmon on April 23 had a phone conversation with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to discuss further development of the Russian-Tajik relations of strategic partnership and alliance, according to the Kremlin partnership.  

They reportedly discussed issues related to the development of coordination within the framework of integration associations in the Eurasian space, taking into account Tajikistan’s rotating chairmanship in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in 2021.  

Putin and Rahmon also exchanged views on the situation in the Central Asian region against the backcloth of the latest developments in Afghanistan.
