Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin on September 6 held a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Mark Garneau.
During the talks, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Canada, including in the political, economic, social, humanitarian and security spheres,. reports the Information Department of the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan.
The parties exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and expressed their readiness to strengthen and expand cooperation in regional and international formats in order to ensure regional security.
Diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Canada were established on January 1, 1992. The Canadian Embassy in Tajikistan is located in the city of Nur-Sultan in Kazakhstan.
